Day 46 status

1. Why did they cut the plastic and expose the electricity trunk cables?
Got the answer: one of the cables was suspected to be damaged by termite treatment so they cut and took out the cables to check.

2. Connection pipes ready for point-of-entry water filter

3. The floor of the front extension is tiled

Talk

Talked and found out that the plan is to finish up all the wet works and install all doors and windows to close up the place by end of Dec 2010. Then the internal works will continue. Will only move in after CNY 2011 since CNY is in early Feb 2011.

The 4 blocks of black E are stolen and so are all the windows and door panels that were removed.

Back roof all done

The roof for the back extension was all done a few days ago. I am surprised to see that they use this type of roof after doing flat concrete roof so if someone lift up a piece of roof tile, they will see concrete surface below.

Back gutter all done

The work putting up the gutter on Sunday is all done.

Working Sunday

Woken up on a Sunday by hammering sounds at 9am. Putting up gutter.

Alarm system wiring path.

No activity

Seems like no there are no activities going on from the outside. Perhaps they are doing internal works.

Roof tiles

Started putting up roof tiles. I still wonder why they built the flat concrete roof below the roof tiles.

Day 24 Finally rendered

At about 10am, the electrician and air conditioned workers came and drilling work started. From 11 to 11.30, the top portion of the side walls for the back extension was rendered. They just used some wood and built a temporary structure for the worker to stand on while rendering the top. But the inner top wall facing the roof tiles is still not rendered.

A wooden stick - remnants of the temporary wood structure that the worker stood on. I hope they remove it before they paint the wall.

Top portion of the wall rendered.

Inner side of the wall facing the roof tiles not rendered yet.

Rest day Deepavali

As today is a public holiday, the workers did not work today. Thus giving us all a break from the sounds. Status so far:

Back extension - top of the wall still not rendered . Wonder what they are waiting for...a longer ladder?

Front new walls rendered. One original beam next to the sliding door (nearer to the side garden) is still there with iron rods exposed near the ground so we can still expect to hear thumping sounds when they are removing this beam.

The indent courtyard walls and windows have been completedly demolished, leaving behind the skeletal iron rods. A concrete ceiling has been built. That explained the thumping sounds we heard on Thursday (yesterday).
The concrete frame and concrete ceiling for the side extension are ready.

No 1st floor back extension

I thought since they built a concrete flat roof, they would also be extending the 1st floor back portion. So I was very surprised to see wooden roof beams being put up for roof tiles.

Bye bye skip 10

Skip was removed around 4pm today.

Awning

I suspect 4 of 6 has the awning salesperson here today to measure the back yard. If they are really just putting up awning and not doing any back extension, I am happy.

A few days ago (about the 3rd week of Oct) I noticed a t-shirt hanging by the window of 4 of 6 so I think they have started renovation. Today from the opened back door I can see directly out of their main glass door so I think that they are reclaiming the inner courtyard area by hacking away the pillars and removing all the windows and doors of the inner courtyard.

So when will they move in? Just before CNY next year?

Nov monthly status

10 finally moved in last month (23 oct 10 Sat) so 1 more house in but 10 still has the skip outside and many renovation leftover waste yet to be thrown.

5st:
3 houses are doing active renovation:

4 - doing back extension, started on Oct 26
7 - quite slow progress Oct 14
18 - not much work done on its concrete porch

6st:
4 - not extending back but removing courtyard ground floor, started maybe mid Oct
10 - back extension concrete top, started maybe on Oct 1

So out of the above 5 houses, who will move in first. I think should be 4 of 5st or 4 of 6st and will be just before CNY next year.

Stats:
8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 (11/15 = 73%)
3, 5, 9, 11, 15, 17, 19, 21 (8/12 = 67%)

19 in out of 27 so 70% in.

16 months since VP and 70% houses occupied on this street.
