Day 78 Fenced

Today the workers put back the fence even though the side wall of the back extension or rather the whole back extension has not been painted yet. Sp spoke to the wet works subcontractor two days ago to ask him to fix the fence before the new year so I think that was why it was done today.

Back moved in

They have moved in finally. She was cooking in the kitchen and the back light and kitchen light and utility room light were left on for the whole night.

They took around 46 days (1 month 16 days) to get the house ready and move in. I'm really happy that they did not build a back extension.

Grilles and air cond

White grilles and air conditioner units have been installed yesterday. Today workers can be seen cleaning (vacumn) the rooms. So does this mean the residents will move in soon? Before the new year?

Yesterday, we noticed that this house whose owners moved in before us in Sept 2009 started renovation - building back extension and they also have a scaffolding structure in front of the house. Are they doing renovation after one year of living in the house? or have they sold the place and the new owners are doing the renovation? Will try to find out.

Cooker hood outlet

Heard drilling today. A worker drilled into the wall and made a round hole to install the outlet for the cooker hood.

Wood to metal door

From the looks and sounds of it, it was not that difficult for the workers to remove the wooden door frame. It looked even easier to put in the new metal door frame and door.

Day 61 balcony metal moved

As can be seen from the photo below, the green side extension wall of the neighbour facing this unit which is green has been painted to be butter milk (top half) and orange (bottom half).

An additional step leading up to the back gate has been constructed.

Day 58 cut balcony

Today the metal works people came to modify the balcony according to the requirements of the owner by removing the two thick metal columns but they only added one metal column.

Add awning

The concrete porch is already gigantic. Does it need to have awning added to it?

Day 57 dig a pond

Today a worker was seen digging a hole in the garden to be made into a pond.

Day 53 tiled side entrance

The above way to tile a curved corner gives it a out-dated look. They should just use tiles with curved edges as in the picture below (copied from the web - source unknown).

1. Why did they cut the plastic and expose the electricity trunk cables?
Got the answer: one of the cables was suspected to be damaged by termite treatment so they cut and took out the cables to check.

Talked and found out that the plan is to finish up all the wet works and install all doors and windows to close up the place by end of Dec 2010. Then the internal works will continue. Will only move in after CNY 2011 since CNY is in early Feb 2011.

The 4 blocks of black E are stolen and so are all the windows and door panels that were removed.

Open back ext

Was told that the opening will not be closed up by grilles. It will stay this way. Back wet works 16 and internal concrete kitchen counter 35 with some kitchen cabinets.

Back roof all done

The roof for the back extension was all done a few days ago. I am surprised to see that they use this type of roof after doing flat concrete roof so if someone lift up a piece of roof tile, they will see concrete surface below.
