The approach

1. What is our approach to getting the house ready for us to occupy?

a. Do we set a overall budget and then set a specific budget to each room and work within the budget?
b. Do not set a budget but use the least money as possible to get the house ready. Reuse as many things as possible from our existing place.

2. Is there a specific style we want the house to be in?

a. No specific style. Just make the place functional by using minimal things.
b. A specific style for the whole house. An integrated look.
c. A different style for each room. A mish mash look.

Recyclables

I like to collect misc papers, envelopes, newspapers, empty plastic containers such as shampoo bottles, washing liquid bottles, bottles for mineral water; cardboards; cans; glass bottles and keep them separately before sending them to the recycling place. I plan to store them in dedicated cupboard. But where do I put the cupboard?

1. Under the stairs
2. In the utility room
3. In the porch
4. In the backyard

Items related to the car

The car will be parked in the porch. Items in question are items used to wash the car as in hose, pail, rags, sponge, car polish wax, car washing liquid; bottles of leftover synthetic oil from car service and etc.

These items can be stored in a dedicated cupboard which can be placed:

1. under the stairs
2. in the porch
3. utility room
4. back area of the house

So where would the cupboard be placed?

How many shower heater units do we need?

There are 4 bathrooms cum toilets in the house. I am glad that there are not more of them. Since we won't be using all the bathrooms, we do not need to install shower heater units in all of them. So we need to identify which bathroom will get those units.

The brands under consideration are Joven, Panasonic, Alpha

The other question is do we need a storage water heater unit since one of the bathroom have a bath tub in it.

To paint or not to paint

Should we repaint the new house? The house is supposed to be new so why should there be a need to repaint it.

The choices:

1. Repaint the whole house (all exterior and interior walls).
2. Repaint the walls of selected rooms.
3. Repaint selected areas of selected walls.
4. Do not repaint any walls at all. Status quo.

One reason for repainting is that the house does not come in the preferred colour so we repaint it with our favoured colours.

Another reason is that the paint job is done so badly that the house does not look new thus warrant a repaint. But this should be done foc by the developer.
